Ottawa Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) and its Community Partners

 

This year, the Ottawa Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) and its community partners made a wonderful gesture by donating CAC Care Kit backpacks to the residents of the John Howard Society’s Kirkpatrick Residence on November 24, 2025.

Each backpack included practical items such as a coffee mug, toque, gloves, socks, a blanket, and several hygiene essentials—items that can be used on a daily basis. With the variety and usefulness of these supplies, the backpack was thoughtfully designed to function like a “to-go” kit. It was a great idea and much appreciated.

To complete the package, each backpack also contained a $15 Tim Hortons gift card, a transit map, and an OC Transpo PRESTO card, adding even more value and support for the residents.
